We carry a range of Victorian and Edwardian cast iron fireplaces. Georgian cast iron places are rare. These cast iron fireplace surrounds had a variety of grates or inserts, some arched, others square with tiled surround. The finish on the surround can be a burnished iron finish, or the surround painted, with burnished grate as was the style for fireplaces in bedrooms of that era.

These fireplaces were typical to all houses of the period, large or small. They come in a range of sizes, and ornateness, depending on their original location, whether large drawing room, kitchen or bedroom of a large country house, or a terraced home. Cast iron fireplaces are typically fitted with a slate hearth, which can be fitted flush to most floor types.
